January

The first Music at The Limes of the year will be at 5pm in the Pavilion on Sunday, 22nd January with songs by Schubert and Mahler performed by Morag Crowther (soprano), accompanied by Francis Rumsey (piano).

February

Mark Hofman, who has been a Trustee and the Treasurer of the Exuberant Trust since the beginning in February 2003 has announced that he would like to resign. Mark will be missed and has kept the financial and legal side of the trust running smoothly for many years, including his work in setting up its Charitable status. Megan Boyes, who had been Secretary will take on the Treasurer role and Jeremy Cunningham, Trustee will now take on the role of Secretary. The Exuberant Trust hope to find another Trustee.

On Sunday, 19th February at 5pm, Karen Kay will perform Songs from a Mirror World for voice and piano at The Limes, for our second fundraising concert of 2012.

March

The Exuberant Trust are very excited about the planned production of a professionally colour-printed leaflet that will be used to promote and advertise the trust to both grant applicants and supporters. The leaflet will be a 3-fold, A4 size and feature information about the trust, photographs of award-winners and forms to apply for a grant or donate. The cost of the leaftlet will be about £600 for a print-run of 5,000. All trustees feel that this will be a good investment for the Exuberant Trust. Thanks go to Trustees Susie Crow and Jeremy Cunningham for meeting to plan and organise the content and production of the leaflet.

May

£555 has been raised from the last three concerts at The Limes, so many thanks are extended to all supporters and performers as always. At 5pm on Sunday, 6th May we welcome the D'Angelo Trio, featuring DerShin Hwang ~ soprano, Stephen Bennett ~ clarinet and James D'Angelo ~ piano, who will perform songs by Bridge, Brahms, Hindemith, D'Angelo and the Hovhaness Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Francis Poulenc.

October

Trustee Sue Cave has decided to resign due to the increasing demands of other commitments. Sue has been a trustee since 2006 and has been an invaluable member of the Exuberant Trust, partly due to the vast knowledge that she has been able to offer as an Art teacher and Artist. Sue has also been extremely helpful at many fundraising events and has been a supporter of the trust since the beginning. We extend huge thanks to Sue for all of her help and look forward to seeing her again at future events!

November

Concert Pianist Tom Poster, who was born in Oxford and went to Cherwell School, honoured us with a fundraising concert on the 25th at the Hollywell Music Building, in aid of the Exuberant Trust. Tom played a varied programme of music, including Chopin, Grieg & Ravel, which he said he had chosen to include some of his favourite pieces to play. He added further interest to his marvellous performance by talking about the pieces he played during the concert.

The evening was a resounding success and the performance paid homage to Tom's professional and widely acclaimed talents as a pianist. The audience was extremely generous and the combination of net ticket takings (the only expenses being the venue and publicity) and further donations raised the magnificent amount of £1,300. We would like to extend our huge thanks to Tom and to all who attended and donated.
