2013

January

2013 is a special year as it marks the 10th Anniversary of the Exuberant Trust, which was formed in 2003. Read more about it here.

Susie Crow, Trustee and founder of the Ballet in Small Spaces presented the Exuberant Trust with a donation of £160. Susie had comissioned a 2013 calendar featuring photography of the dancers who performed in the two, new ballets from the BISS: Commedia and Inside Out, which premiered in May 2011. The proceeds from the sale of the calendars were shared between BISS and the Exuberant Trust. Thank you Susie!

February

The first Music at The Limes concert of the year will be on Sunday, 17th February at 6pm and will feature a varied programme including Hanel, Bach and Debussy, performed by Emma Teichmann (flute), Sarah Lister (contralto, flute, piano) and Roger Teichmann (keyboard). We are very grateful to all the performers who kindly rescheduled this concert, which was originally planned for January, but was cancelled due to the heavy snow.

March

Many thanks go to all who attended the concert in February and kindly donated a fantastic total of £501. This money is enough to provide another full grant for a successful grant applicant. Huge thanks, as always are also given to all of the artists at the Limes concerts, who kindly perform for free and together with our wonderful supporters enable the Exuberant Trust to continue providing arts-based grants to young people in Oxfordshire.

May

The Music at The Limes season continues with a concert at 7pm Sunday, 19th May including songs by Brahms, Schubert and Duparc performed by Sophie Dodds (soprano) with piano accompaniment by Rupert Compston (piano).

June

We are delighted to have the RUISI Quartet play for the Exuberant Trust at the Music at The Limes concert on Sunday, 30th June. Newly formed in 2012, the RUSIS feature four highly-talented young musicians, including violinist Guy Button, who has played for the Trust several times before (Commedia 2011, MaTL 2011 & 2012 and the Jaqueline Du Pré Music Building 2012).

July

Music at The Limes veterans William Leigh Knight and John Collis join us once again on 28th July for a recital of song and verse, together with Catherine Hutchinson. We are extremely grateful to these lovely gents (and the lovely lady Catherine) for performing once again in aid of the Exuberant Trust - this concert promises to provide a delightful evening of music.

August

Preperations for the Showcase 2013 are underway! After a break last year, the return of the Showcase will help to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Exuberant Trust by providing a platform where we can enjoy the talents of some of the young people who have received a grant from the Exuberant Trust.

September

Exuberant Oxford! this year's Showcase held at the Pegasus, Oxford was a great success! The evening was a wonderful celebration of the achievements that the award-winners have made so far and raised over £1200 for the Exuberant Trust with the combined ticket sales and donations from the audience and other supporters.

The event showcased some of the highly-talented young people that the Exuberant Trust has supported in the past and featured a variety of musical, dance and drama performances and also two arts and crafts exhibitions, all of which were of a high standard and provided an extremely enjoyable, moving and sometimes breathtaking evening!

Many thanks go to all of the award-winners who took part in the Showcase and to their friends and families for their help and support; a huge thank you must also go to the audience and supporters of the trust, who helped make the evening such a fundraising success and lastly we are incredibly grateful to the Pegasus, Oxford who allowed the event to take place free of charge.
