Celtic Twilight, Celtic Dawn



WILLIAM LEIGH KNIGHT was born in London and studied full-time at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has followed a varied career which has included professional church choirs, oratorio, and a particular interest in entertainments combining song and poetry, which he compiles.


William is a lecturer in the music department of Morley college, teaching vocal studies. He has a particular interest in helping singers find their voices, especially those who have been labelled tone-deaf. He is currently working on a research programme organised by GSMD into the teaching for the ‘adult-non-singer’.


For the last three years, William has been the co-ordinator of the conference event Seeds of Inspiration in Switzerland.



JOHN COLLIS was born in Witney and studied music at the University of Reading. He taught music on the Isle of Wight for fifteen years, where he directed school productions and was pianist for the vocal group Cameo.

 

In London, he has been accompanist for the musical theatre group Geoids, Surrey Opera and OperaUpClose.


After 11 years as College Librarian at Rose Bruford College, John is now devoting his time to piano teaching and accompanying. He teaches piano at Newham Academy of Music and in Sydenham School. He accompanies singing classes at Morley College and has been a house pianist at Ardingly International Music School for four years. John also plays the organ for Forest Hill Methodist Church.
